So I am going through the case file and I notice an entry in the notes from Jay Winn. Winn is a District Attorney's Office Investigator. DA investigators are part of the same union with Deputy Sheriffs. Winn served as the Treasurer for the union, so he had regular contact with CLEA.
Now I am going to pause right here. If Winn said anything even remote good about my character or health, do you think it would have shown up anywhere in the report from CLEA? Of course not. But you guessed it, he only had negative stuff to say about me and it all was documented in CLEA's file.
Making things worse everything he said about me, was flat out false. It can easily be proven false if he or anyone else would just take two minutes out of their life to verify my claim.
But before I move on let me tell you about how I feel about Mr. Winn. And this is not as a result of what he said, this is pretty much how I have always felt about him. He is a lazy, borderline incompetent, gossiping, dumbass who gave me the creeps.
Sorry for being so blunt, but let me explain. I worked with his ex. He constantly asked questions about her despite being separated for years. Stalker.
Granted he and I only spoke a handful of times, because I honestly did not like him. He gave me the creeps.
The last time we spoke was around 2009. He was talking about a Deputy who had recently been accused of misconduct. He was telling me and everyone around how dumb this Deputy was. Winn was saying how he was going to get fired and possibly charged with a crime. I asked how he knew all this since the incident had just occurred.
Winn really did not answer me and continued tearing this guy's character up to anyone who would listen.
Finally I asked if he had read any reports or spoken directly to any of the investigators on the case. He said no. I pointed out he just was going off of rumors and needed to shut up instead of ruining someone's reputation.
He made a smart remark and tried to play it off like a joke and I walked away disliking him even more. As someone who has been the subject of those wild rumors, I can be sensitive to them.
So three years later, I have not seen or spoken to the guy, but he feels he is in a position to make a dicision regarding my health? Suddenly, he appears in my insurance file stating I should be denied coverage. That he will do what he can to help ensure I get denied coverage and he wants to be informed every step of the way what is going on with my claim.
He is no doctor or lawyer so what he based his decision on that I did not deserve coverage is beyond me, nevermind he is a union board member who should be standing up for its membership.
But wait it gets even worse. Winn tells my insurance I was arrested earlier in the year. Now this is a District Attorney Investigator, on duty working in an official capacity with the DA's Office. Any reasonable person would believe this information to be credible given the source don't you think?
For starters, I fail to understand how that was "need to know" information for him to release. Law Enforcement can not just randomly look up peoples criminal background history and start calling insurance companies or anyone else to give out the information. So I am not sure what his rationale for the release of the information was.
But, even worse than that, I was not arrest in 2012. In fact I have never been arrested my entire life. I have never been charged with a crime. I have not had a speeding ticket in about 17 years.
Personally, if I am going to say something with the intentions of causing problems for someone in an official proceeding, I think I would take the time to verify the information. But not this guy, he loves to spit out rumors to unsuspecting people as if they were facts.
Whether or not someone told him I was arrested or he fabricated the entire thing is pointless. It shows the incompetence and the spitefulness of certain clicks in the Kern County Law Enforcement community. Those individuals who will do and say anything to damage the credibility and reputation of those who challenge their way of life.
But this is about CLEA, not an incompetent moron.
So back to CLEA, they put all this information in the case file as if it matters what Winn thinks. But had it been the other way around, not one word would have been included.
